To provide a clean, safe, and secure working environment for our employees, continually update our equipment and processes to promote efficient processes that produce quality products and services for our customers at a fair price allowing our company to earn a reasonable profit. The History of Arrow Machine Arrow Machine was founded on January 1st, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio. Its three employees included its founder, John L. Habe, II, and was located at East 55th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio in a 3,000 square foot garage space. The original equipment included two four-spindle Acmes, one six-spindle Conamatic and one six-spindle New Britain. All the equipment was vintage, but serviceable. There was a total absence of support equipment for shipping and receiving, which was achieved through direct physical labor. Expanding Operations Arrow relocated to a 10,000 square foot facility in 1972, located at East 140th Street in Cleveland, Ohio. It was at this location that we partially automated chip handling and employed a lift truck to transfer parts and materials. Arrows equipment was still vintage, but was updated as it grew to a ten New Britain automatic facility with approved secondary capabilities. The plant was newer, cleaner, and offered much improved working conditions for its ten employees. Over the next ten years, our conditions and equipment steadily improved, allowing Arrow to move to a better facility in Mentor, Ohio. Modern Facilities The construction of the new facility in Mentor, Ohio started in 1981. This new 18,000 square foot building had Arrows first clean air purifiers and offered much improved shop lighting, and material handling. Affordable efficiencies were adopted in this building and a feeling of pride developed among its fifteen employees. A "no floor dry" policy was implemented and employee pride kept the building and equipment clean and organized. The year 1992 saw the addition of CNC machines to the floor. Hard work and continued investment led to additional updated equipment and improved quality levels as we grew to a forty screw machine shop with 17 CNC machines by 1998. Creative Team In 1998, a combination of experience and imagination assisted in building the worker-friendly and efficient screw machine facility at 8687 Tyler Boulevard. In 1999 the CNC facility was completed giving the company a total of 80,000 square feet. The future of Arrow Machine is one dependent upon the minds, skills, and collective work habits of the employees of Arrow Machine Company, Ltd. Collective Vision Arrow Machine’s ability to anticipate the direction of machine tool and cutting tools industries will expand its ability to compete world-wide. From 2002-2003 Arrow added ten German and Italian built screw machines. In 2004, Arrow received the first of four rotary transfer machines. In all, this equipment will bring higher quality capabilities while increasing Arrow Machine’s versatility and capability.
